a characteristic that enhances survival of an organism and reproduction in their habitat

A
anatomical - structural features of an organism
behavioural - way an organism can modify their behaviour that helps it survive
physiological/ biochemical - affects the way processes work e.g function of cell processes to enhance survival

anatomical- wolves have thick fur
behavioural - hunting in packs
physiological- acidity in stomach

why do organisms from different taxonomic groups show similar anatomical features
A
because of evolving in similar environments and to fill similar ecological niches e.g marsupial and placental mole = convergent evolution.
