Q

How does active transport work when minerals are being absorbed by root hairs

A

The plant roots grow into hairs into the soil
Each branch is covered in hairs, increasing the surface area for absorption
The concentration of the minerals is usually higher in the root hair cells than in the soil

Q

Where is active transport used in the body

A

Used in the gut where there is lower concentration of nutrients (glucose) to be absorbed to a higher concentration in the bloodstream
It can be transported to cells, where its used for respiration
