What is the accounting equation?
ASSETS - LIABILITIES = CAPITAL
What is an asset?
something that a business owns
What is the b/d?
the balance on ledger after all entries have been take into account

What is the c/d?
balancing figure

What is capital?
amount owed by business to its owner as a separate entity
What is capital expenditure?
money spent by business to purchase NCA
What is capital income?
money received by business from sale of a NCA

inventory, debtors, cash at bank and petty cash
Examples of current liabilities
creditors and overdraft
What is the general ledger?
collection of T accounts
-assets, liability, income, expenditure and capital accounts
What are the 3 type of ledgers?

What is the receivables ledger?
individual ledger accounts for each trade customer
-single entry
What is the payables ledger?
individual ledger accounts for each trade supplier
