The plan the that Union General Winfield Scott developed. The general idea was to surround the south and choke them to death. Named after a snake that does the same thing.

The Confederate General that developed the confederate defensive strategy.
Ironclad Warships
The new modern type of ship that was steam powered and coated with iron to better protect itself. Showed how advanced America was getting technologically during the war.

Union General that helped the North at the first Battle of Bull Run, or the first Manassas. They ended up losing because there were too many men to execute his plans.

Confederate General who ordered the first shots at Fort Sumter and led the attack at Charleston.

The First Manassas, resulted in Northern loss and Southern overconfidence.
Robert E. Lee
Confederate General in-chief, this man was the best general the South ever had, and led them through many a bloody battle.
John Pope
Union General who was known for being outspoken and arrogant, failed miserably during the 2nd Battle of Bull Run and was instantly fired.
J.E.B Stuart
Confederate General who won the 2nd Battle of Bull Run. He crushed the Union armies that day.
George McClellan
Union General who excelled at organization but was too slow. CHALLENGED LINCOLN FOR PRES. IN 1864.
