How does probenecid work

A

It reduced renal excretion of weak acids including abx beta lactamases and cephalosporins
Increasing time of maximal concentrations

How does clavulonic acid work

A

Inactivates some beta lactamases to prevent destruction of amoxicillin. This helps tx more infection and prevent abx resistance
