what are the types of delayed puberty
normal/decreased LH/FSH
- constitutional delay (most common, often familial, short stature, delayed bone age)
- chronic illness (CF, AN)
- endocrine (hypopituitrism, hyperprolactinaemia)
increased LH/FSH
- primary gonadal failure
(Turners, Klinefelters, chemo, irradiation)
what is the definition of precocious puberty
females onset <8yrs
males onset <9yrs
more common in girls than boys, less likely to be pathological in girls

- idiopathic
