*Minimize time on scene

*Wait for a responsible party: Law Enforcement, Cal Trans, Public Works, etc…. to arrive and assume Traffic

*The initial company officer must assess the parking needs of later-arriving fire apparatus
**Provide protective blocking
* Initial CO must operate as the initial safety office
*When staffing allows, assign a designated Safety Officer
*Block all exposed sides
*If around a bend, or over a rise, place apparatus or a flagger in a position to forewarn oncoming traffic

*Park at an angle with front wheels directed out into traffic, away from the scene.
