A dual jumpseat must have working required component eg safety belt and shoulder harness or headrest. If n.ot seat is inop
Can be dispatched with inop seat if:
1. Seat not occupied
2. Folding seat retract mechanist operates
3. FA occupies pax seat closet to inop seat to perform duties.
4. PIC determine alternative seat per MEL
4. If alternate seat pax seat: placed seat CREW ONLY, seat not occupied by pax
Can a 737 be dispatched with a PARTLY OR COMPLETELY inoperative PA?
Yes IF:
1. FD/cabin interphone (two way) & call chimes work normally
2. Megaphone available & functional
3. Use megaphone for communication in emer & safety announcements
Can a 737 be dispatched with an inoperative HANDSET?
Yes IF
1. Operative FD/Cabin interphone (two-way) at operative FA seat.
2. Advise cabin crew of location of inop handset and alternate means of communication
Can a 737 be dispatched with an inoperative pre-recorded pax announcement or safety video system?
Yes IF:
1. Ensure PA system operates normally
2. Advise cabin crew of alternate procedures eg live safety demo
Can a 737 be dispatched with a PARTLY inoperative INTERPHONE SYSTEM?
Yes IF:
Operative FD/Cabin interphone (two-way) at operative FA seat.
Advise cabin crew of situation and alternate means of communication.
