What should the First Aid provider do in cases of severe bleeding

- Sanitize your hands
- Lie the injured person down
- While wearing gloves, remove any loose debris from wound
- Apply pressure directly on the wound
- Maintain pressure until the bleeding stops
- Do not remove the gauze or bandage
- Squeeze a main artery if necessary
- Immobilize the injured body part once the bleeding has stopped
