6b Flashcards
Ohmic device
Electrical component with constant resistence for all voltages
Resistance (electrical) v resistor
Measure of object opposition to the flow of electric current
Ohmic device with fixed resistance opposing flow of electric current causing voltage drop
Electrical resistance
Lightbulbs and heaters are examples
Ohms law
Relates voltage and current across electrical component to that components electrical resistance. Higher potential difference is higher current flow.
Describes electrodermal activity and skin conductance by applying voltage on skin to measure current detecting resistence. Used for psych and polygraph test as skin conductance is effected by emotional state.
Ohmic and non Ohmic on graph
Linear and passes through origin
Non linear or doesn’t pass through origin
