What is the purpose an address?
To provide thoughts on how to live our lives in accordance with the 7 principles.
The theory of a good address is that the speaker should introduce with impact the important message they have for the assembled audience, then repeat it again but in a different and more expansive way, and finally deliver it a third time leaving it as something the audience will recall in the days which follow and hopefully fill them with the presence of the spirit in their lives.
What are the 3 parts of an address?
Introduction : rhetorical question, quotation, anecdote, XYZ as it relates to a principle
Main Body : share a story, emphasize a point/principle
Conclusion : recap and final point
What role can spirit play in developing and delivering an address?
Inspiration during the development of the address as well as the delivery.
How should you conclude an Address?
Draw on the body of the address which you have just given and leave the congregation with a thought or a seed for them to think about what you have given, hopefully something to go away and think about or something that relates to them.
Why is attunement important for a speaker?
For Spirit Inspiration. We’re putting out the intention that we want Spirit to be with us, and so we’re becoming attuned with Spirit and they can come through us as we speak the words.
What is the purpose of prompt cards?
-they help to guide the speaker and ensure we don’t forget a talking point
What must the key element be in each address?
It must contain at least one Principle
