1 tablet ASAP
2nd tablet at least 2 hours later (4 hours if naratriptan) if migraine recurs
- Do not take a second dose for same attack.

Acts on 5-HT1d and 5-HT1b receptors present on cranial arteries/veins to cause vasoconstriction

Side effects
A
Common = dizziness, drowsiness, dyspnoea, N +V, flushing
Coronary vasoconstriction
Anaphylaxis

A
- Ischaemic heart disease
- Previous MI
- Uncontrolled or moderate-severe hypertension
- Peripheral vascular disease
- Previous stroke/TIA
- Coronary vasospasm
- Prinzmetals angina

Counselling
A
Stop if intense tingling, heat, heaviness, pressure or tightness in the body
