Requirements & expectations as regards Venues
The role of the host city and the OCOG with respect to all venues is to plan, design, build, upgrade and/or refurbish, fit-out and operate the venues (be they permanent, demountable or temporary venue infrastructure and overlay) and infrastructure :
1. required to host the Games;
2. to appropriate technical and sustainable standards defined in reference documents,
including those defined by the International Federations (IFs);
3. in compliance with International Health, Safety & Environmental and Accessibility best practices;
4. in compliance with the Candidature Commitments, Host City Contract, and Olympic Charter;
5. considering the Games event operational needs; and
6. in a practical, affordable and sustainable balance of permanent and temporary buildings and infrastructure which leaves a long term legacy to the host city and its residents and communities.
