Land evolutions Flashcards

1
Q

What are the 4 ordnance safeties and how do you observe them?

A
  1. HE = high explosive = maintain max distance possible to accomplish your mission
  2. Frag = fragmentation = obtain frontal and overhead cover before performing any positive action
  3. Static = static electricity = touch the ground before placing hands on ordnance item
  4. movement = do not move, strike, or jar ordnance except by remote means

Q

List the tasks required when conduction basic ordnance recon and ID problems.

A
  1. ask cadre “where is the ordnance”
  2. sound off with safeties “HE, Frag, Static, Movement”
  3. approach the ordnance observing safeties
  4. use your recon kit, environment, and resources to identify the ordnance type

Q

How will you apply the recon skills sets when tasked with rigging and RSP ordnance?

A
  1. ask cadre “where is the ordnance”
  2. sound off with safeties “HE, Frag, Static, Movement”
  3. approach the ordnance observing safeties
  4. use your recon kit, environment, and resources to identify the ordnance type
  5. rig ordnace to remotely remove it from its emplacement without violating safety procedures
  6. request permission from your cadre to conduct remote movement procedure from behind cover
  7. when mission accomplished tell cadre “the problem is complete”

Q

How do you rig?

A
  1. fair-lead your line in from your safety area to ordnance
  2. tie a bowline knot around the ogive of the ordnance with the pull end
  3. half hitch the pull line around the base of the ordnance
  4. pull from a distance, observing your safeties and obtaining cover
  5. remotely move the ordnance through the X,Y,Z axes so you are confident it is safe to move manually
