Q

Variax 2 mini frag plate options

A

Profile, Narrow Locking, and Broad Locking plates

Profile locking plates
offered as straight plates only, ranging from 4 – 20-hole lengths.
Takes 2.0mm and 2.4mm screws

Broad Locking Plates
Variable angle locking, stronger option compared to narrow
Offered as straight plate only, 4-20 hole lengths
Takes all screw sizes

Narrow Plates
Variable angle locking, weaker option compared to Narrow locking.
Straight, T, Y, and triangle plate options
T-plates: 5 and 10-holes lengths

Q

Lapifuse steps

A
  1. Joint prep
Make incision over first Tmt joint, use distractor with (2) 2.5mm pins . Use joint prep kit
  2. Fenestrate using 2.5mm drill and drill guide from prep kit
  3. Create incision over first mtp joint, insert (1) 1.4mm k wire
  4. Create incision in first interspace
  5. Insert clamp over to reduce IM angle
5.use targeting guide to place interfragmentary screw (4.0mm ) from base of first metatarsal, through medial cunueforminto body of intermediate cuneiform . Assemble targeting guide and insert two 1.4mm k wires
  6. Place one kwire through targeting guide to temporarily secure the joints
  7. Measure: Remove targeting guide and replace with depth gauge to measure
  8. Pre Drill: 2.7mm drill and guide
  9. Insert screw ( 4.0mm) (35mm-45mm lengths) with driver
  10. Select plate: hold plate with temporary pins
  11. Measure using plate screw depth gauge
  12. Pre Drill: 2.5mm drill and guide
  13. Secure plate: with locking or non locking screws (3.5mm) (12mm-40mm lengths)
  14. (Optional) compression slot : pre drill : 2.5mm drill
  15. Measure for non locking screw (3.5mm) (12mm-40mm lengths)
  16. Insert screw: non locking screw into bone
  17. IF USING 6 HOLE PLATE:
INsert screw: locking or non locking screw through hole (3.5mm, 12-40mm lengths)
