Emily Davison was a Suffragette who campaigned for women to be given the right to vote

Emily attended the Epsom Derby where she stepped out in front of King George V’s horse, Anmer. It is thought that Emily was trying to attach Suffragette flags to the horse in order to draw attention to the campaign for votes for women but it ran straight into her
