1 Flashcards
Shape of landscapes
U shape and V shaped valley
Weathering Processes
Freeze Thaw-water in cracks, freeze, expand, pressure, ice melts
Chemical weathering-Acidic rainfall wearing rock away
Biological weathering- plant and animals forming cracks in the rocks
Slope processes
Rockfalls/landslides. Rock and debris sides down the slope change the landscape
Post glacial river processes
River erosion create misfit streams (streams that should not be there) and deposit alluvium
Effect of the Ice age
Water runs of surface of valley eroding the valley during the processe
Igneous Rock
Formed from lava. Once molten and were created by destructive volcano
Sedimentary Rock
Formed in the ocean from sediments
Metamorphic Rock
Rocks that continuously heated and compressed
